Autism Awareness Week
We have all had a fantastic week in Scoil Bhríde this week celebrating autism awareness and neurodiversity. As Temple Grandin stated “The world needs all kinds of minds.”
Our fundraiser for the autism classes was a massive success with a whopping €1700 raised to purchase new sensory equipment. We are so grateful for all our school community’s generosity.
Our students did a wonderful job decorating the school and for autism awareness week.
We were all blown away by a wonderful poem written by two students Freya McGaley and Sandra Keogh from Múinteoir Amy’s 6th class. Make sure to follow the instructions and read the poem both ways!
Reverse integration in Múinteoir Siobhan’s autism class.
Múinteoir Siobhan’s class invited some of the 1st class students to visit our classroom. We showed the boys and girls some of the games and toys we like to play with. It was very exciting to show everyone our favourite things. The waterbeads were a favourite with everyone.
Courtyard Fun
This year we were very lucky to get our courtyard resurfaced. We have been enjoying this space all year. For autism awareness week we held a fundraiser to purchase new equipment for this space. Thanks to the generosity of the school community we got some great new additions.
From all of us in the autism classes… Thank you!
