Last Friday we were joined by Coleman Power to plant our Scoil Bhríde Orchard. Coleman brought with him 8 organic apple trees, tools, manure and buckets of energy and enthusiasm!! Múinteoir Orla’s class provided the muscle and dug the holes for the eight trees, one for each class level. Every class in the school had the opportunity to engage with the planting of the trees, with Coleman providing a great hands on experience for the children and plenty of fun facts too! Along with the trees we also planted a box of dreams for the future. The children wrote down their dreams and wishes which were then buried in our orchard where they will grow with our trees! The trees should bear fruit for us in three years. We look forward to the day where we can pick delicious apples from our own orchard for us to eat and enjoy. Thanks to Coleman, the students and teachers for making this an enjoyable and memorable day!
